Reflex Advanced Marine Company Profile

Reflex Advanced Marine Corp (RAM) was formed in 1993 by Master Boat Builder and designer Ian Taylor. In the early years it was strictly a Research and Development Company operated on a part-time basis to further the design of an innovative tri-hulled craft called Reflex™, a next generation type of marine craft targeting the security and defense sectors.

As the design and prototype testing progressed it became apparent that a revolutionary new design of vessel was emerging, one that presented significant commercial opportunity.

In late 1997 it was decided to move the project forward on a full-time basis. Private investment was secured and the company proceeded to finalize designs, secure its intellectual property, and develop manufacturing methods suited to mass production with exacting quality control.

Reflex Advanced Marine Company Profile

RAM has now embarked on the commercialization phase of the business offering patented tri-hull designs with multiple innovations and a unique manufacturing process utilizing advance composite materials.

Using its unique tri-hull design characteristics RAM is offering models using the patented ‘Reflex™’ tri-hull design ranging from 26ft to140ft. (8-43 Meters) driven by either propellers or jet propulsion. Speed capabilities range up to 90 knots.

The company is still privately held and managed with approx. 46 shareholders.

The primary design features include:

Phase One

RAM has sourced and approved sub-contract builders to construct vessels under the guidance of RAM personnel. Additional sub-contractors with appropriate facilities have now been sourced both in Canada and the United States for extended requirements.

Phase Two

As most governments wish to secure the technology used in their own vessels, manufacturing facilities are being sourced worldwide to service the growing International market for patrol craft, commercial and passenger vessels.
Offshore manufacturing may be established through joint venture agreements with local builders or through government approved programs. RAM will be offered turn-key solutions with the latest RAM manufacturing innovations and receive full technology training.
